Open Access Journals / Databases:

The Orthodontic Corner has gathered several links of open access orthodontic journals around the web. There is indeed a lot of quality information at the issues of those journals.

• One of the many reasons I personally like The Angle Orthodontist, is it's open access. Supported by the Angle Foundation of Education and Research, it is a top notch place to get you continuing education and be up to date on current orthodontic research.

• Progress in Orthodontics, with editor in chief Dr Rivindra Nanda is one of the open access journals with outmost interesting articles and case reports. A good read worth of your time.

• AAOF Craniofacial Growth Legacy Collection, with support from the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation (AAOF), nine of the eleven known collections of longitudinal craniofacial growth records in the United States and Canada have joined together to create this web site and its underlying numerical database.

• Orthodontic Cyber Journal, is online since 1996. It accepts articles for publication, without constricting the editors of the articles, who can publish it in an other mainstream journal as well. Executive Editor is Dr Larry W. White, who is an emeritus editor of the JCO, along with a number of distinguished publishers and advisers.

• The list continues with the Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics, which is a Brazilian open access journal with articles published in English. Editor in chief is Dr. Jorge Faber.

• Clinical Cosmetic and Investigational Dentistry is an open access journal not directly of orthodontic but of orthodontic interest material. It is situated in England and editor in chief is Dr Okunseri.

• Hellenic Orthodontic Review is situated in Greece. Editor in chief is M.A. Papadopoulos, and Honorary Editor is A.E. Athanasiou known as a former president of the world orthodontic association. All articles are published in greek and english and have open access to its full text.

• Lingual News is a portal of lingual orthodontics by editor Dr G. Silva. All articles are open access as well and the base of the portal is situated in Israel.

• Orthodontia Revista is an open access journal with articles only in spanish, and it is situated in Venezuela.

Last but not least, is something slightly deferent. It is a blog which acts as an electronic study club. Practitioners from around the world can share knowledge with others. Orthodontic corner is in line with this idea and we encourage you to pay a visit to The Electronic Study Club of Orthodontics.
